Aerial & Architectural Photography With The 24.5mp Nikon D3X:

The latest and most technically-advanced DSLR camera ever produced has arrived in the UK, and Lightbox Photography were among the first to acquire this ground-breaking camera.

With a massive 24.5 megapixels well outstripping its nearest competitor the 21 megapixel Canon 1DS Mk III, the Nikon D3x sets new standards for absolute quality and amount of fine detail recorded in digital images, which can be enlarged to previously unimaginable sizes.

We will be using the D3X for all aerial, architectural and advertising photography in 2009, and expect to see a dramatic increase in image quality as a result.

Combined with the 24mm PC-E tilt/ shift perspective control lens, the D3X offers levels of image quality previously only attainable with medium-format systems, with a corresponding improvement in levels of recorded detail and size of enlargement possible.

Similar improvements in quality can also be achieved in lifestyle advertising photography and corporate portarture.

Architectural Photography for Construction, Local Authorities, CGI Studios, & Property Developers

We use the Nikkor 24mm PC-E Perspective Control lens for architectural photography, specifically designed to replicate some of the technical features of large format cameras, to enable DSLR cameras to utilise lens movements to assist in retaining correct perspective when photographing buildings, specifically to retain upright verticals. This lens transforms what is possible in architectural photography with a DSLR, and does provide a genuine solution to the problem of retaining correct perspective without using a technical large-format view camera.
